How much does this service cost?

ASECU Mobile is a free service offered to our online banking users. However, there may be charges associated with text messaging and data usage on your phone. Check with your wireless phone carrier for more information.

Is it secure?

Yes, ASECU Mobile service utilizes best practices from online banking, such as HTTPS, 128-bit SSL encryption, PIN or password access and application timeout when your phone is not in use. Only the phones that you personally enroll in the service can access your accounts. In addition, no account data is ever stored on your phone. And in the event your phone is lost or stolen, the service can be immediately disabled by either going online to www.asecu.org or calling us at (334) 270.9011 or 1.800.634.9171

Which wireless carriers are supported?

We support all the popular US wireless phone carriers, including AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon. If your carrier is not listed when you enroll, select ‘Other’ and try the Mobile Web option, or check back later, as new carriers will be added over time.

Do I need a text message or data plan?

Yes, a text messaging and/or data plan is typically needed, as data usage can become expensive without them. Please check with your wireless carrier for more information.

I’m not an online banking user. Can I still use this?

You must first be an ASE Credit Union ClearConnect® online banking user before enrolling for ASECU Mobile. If you are not, go to www.asecu.org and apply now.

What is Activation?

Activation is a one-time process that helps ensure your security. After you enroll a phone, you will receive an activation code which will be required to begin using ASECU Mobile Banking on your device. Your activation code is good for 24 hours. If you are unable to activate your phone during that time, just return to the enrollment page on your computer and follow the prompts to request a new activation code. We recommend you print your activation code and installation instructions for easy reference during installation.

How do I sign up for ASECU Mobile?

Follow these steps to sign up for Mobile Banking:

  • Log in to your ASE Credit Union online banking account at www.asecu.org from your computer.
  • Go to the “User Services” tab and choose the “Mobile Enrollment” option from the “Manage Account” box.
  • Enroll your mobile phone and follow the activation instructions. You can choose either Text Banking, Mobile Banking OR both services.
With two choices, how do I know which one is right for me?

You can choose either Text Banking, Mobile App or BOTH services. With both Smartphone and SMS text mobile banking options, ASECU Mobile provides you with the flexibility to manage your finances in a way that fits your lifestyle and your personal preferences. If you are a member with a Smartphone (iPhone™, Droid™, Blackberry™, or Windows™), download the ASECU Mobile app from your phone’s Market to integrate your mobile banking activities into your Smartphone. If you are a member that prefers the convenience of text messaging, our Text Banking solution will allow you to access your accounts and transfer funds in just seconds. The beauty of it all — you don’t have to choose. As an ASECU Mobile member, you have the option to use a combination of our ASECU Mobile and Text Banking tools.

Troubleshooting

I enrolled my phone number but did not receive a text message. What should I do?

Typically you should receive a text message within a few minutes after enrolling, however sometimes mobile carriers experience delays which slow down text message delivery. While waiting, make sure your phone has a wireless signal. In addition, be sure you entered the correct phone number on the enrollment site. If you still do not receive it, contact your wireless carrier to be sure text messaging is enabled on your phone.

I received an activation code but never used it. What do I do now?

Activation codes expire after 24 hours. If you need a new one, return to the ASECU mobile banking site and request a new activation code.

What happens if I get a new phone or change phone numbers?

If you get a new phone or change phone numbers, be sure to return to ASE Credit Union’s online banking Website via your PC and update your phone profile in the Mobile Banking Center. We recommend removing your old phone and re-enrolling your new phone.

What’s the difference between ASE Credit Union ClearConnect Online Banking and ASECU Mobile?

ClearConnect® Online Banking gives you access to your accounts on any conventional laptop or desktop browser. ASECU Mobile is a downloadable mobile banking application for Smartphones. Both options allow you to: view account balances, search recent account activity, pay bills, transfer funds and find the nearest ATM or branch locations.

How do I install ASECU Mobile?

Activate your iPhone or Android phone for both Text Banking and ASECU Mobile by visiting ClearConnect® Online Banking and selecting the “Mobile Enrollment” option listed under “User Services.”

  • During the activation process, your phone will receive a text message from 968-65. Select the URL link provided, and from the ASE ClearConnect® mobile banking site select the link to download the ASECU mobile application; OR, you can search the Google Play Market or iPhone App Store for the ASECU app.
  • After launching the application for the first time, you may be asked to give permission to access the data network. Once you have given permission to access the network, you can log into ASECU Mobile Banking application using your ClearConnect® User ID and password.

Text Banking

What is ASECU Text Banking?

ASECU Text Banking gives you access to your accounts via text (SMS) messages on your phone. It’s a fast, easy way to look up account balances or recent account history by sending a text command to a shortcode.

What is ASECU shortcode?

ASECU shortcode will be provided to you once you enroll in Text Banking. For ease of use, we recommend that you add this number to your phone’s address book or contacts and name it something that you will easily recognize, such as “ASE Text Banking.”

Can I use both Text Banking and Mobile Banking on my phone?

Yes, you can use both options from the same phone. To do so, you will need to activate each option on your phone prior to use. We recommend that you activate both Text Banking and Mobile Banking when you enroll, even if you aren’t sure that you will want to use both. By activating both at the time of your enrollment, you’ll eliminate the need to make changes later.

Is Text Banking supported on my phone?

ASECU Text Banking will work on any text message (SMS) capable phone from one of our supported carriers.

Will I receive unsolicited text messages?

No. You will only receive messages when you specifically request them with one of the Text Banking Commands.

Balance=B - Summary of available balances for all accounts
History=H - Summary of recent transactions per account
Command=C - List of available Text Banking Commands
Help=He - ASE Credit Union’s Mobile Banking Help content for Text Banking
